Very occasionally the John Rylands Library in Manchester opens some of the areas where its splendid Victoria Gothic architecture is not often seen by the general public. Saturday was one such example as our photographer explored the upper gallery,the roof and the basement archives. A church has stood above Saddleworth since the 12th century.The earliest account comes from the Coucher Book of Whalley abbey but is undated but a deed dated 1314 suggests that William [...] It is always a good spot for views.In one direction you can look over Quick Edge across to Greenfield and the Saddleworth Moors.From the other,a panoramic view of Greater Manchester.
