News that East Lancashire has pulled out of the running to become the UK’s capital of culture amid concerns that the region is not easily identifiable.
Back in September,All East Lancashire councils through their Pennine Lancashire partnership decided that the bid could offer a multi-million pound boost to East Lancashire’s towns, villages, businesses and attractions.
However according to the Lancashire Telegraph,
they have scrapped the idea amid concerns over the cost of a bid, infrastructure and how people viewed the area.
Concerns were that the region was not easily identifiable and that transport links were not of the highest quality.
Chorley has already announced that it had pulled out.Manchester and Carlisle are still in the running
